Holiday Mahyem

Hellooooo Humansss!!!

Today I am going to talk about a mini catastrophe that occurred and how a supposedly relaxed holiday in Somerset turned out to be very tiring.

The holiday started off great, we went to theme-parks, waterparks and visited caves; basically did everything touristy.

Yes "touristy" is now a word :)

We were then headed home which was when it all started, our car started to show us that a battery was discharged or something and we were confused because we do not have an electric car. But the screen told us to carry on driving and seek help at a show room or garage - we were definitely not going to do that until we got some what close to home, right then we were 3 hours away from home.

So we drove for a while and stopped at McDonald's for lunch, when we went back to our car, it would not start, so we waited for an hour and called RAC for help, they said it would take roughly 2-3 hours more to be able to come and help us so we decided to try and kick start our car with the help of a stranger.

That sounds terrible and creepy but I promise it was not, and the stranger was really nice to have helped us!

It finally started and we kept on driving until the car told us that the brake system was failing after we drove for around 11 miles, we wanted to pull up but the screen told us to continue driving so we did, slowly every system of the car was failing and shutting down until all of a sudden the engine overheated and the system told us that there was a risk of scalding!

It was so quick that we had to take action fast but it was not easy as we were on a motorway with cars coming really quickly.

Once we pulled up we waited for another 2 hours till RAC came and helped us out and they said they could not fix it or tow us home. The guy was quite unhelpful and was rushing us and offered to drop us in the middle of nowhere (a shopping complex parking lot) to park our car. It was also so late so what were we going to do there?

That was his idea of a safe place!

Anyway we then asked him to send us to a holiday inn and he dropped our car off at a local garage.

We decided to take an Uber home in the end and apparently we had a simple package/cover which was why he could not tow our car all the way home!

When we got home we realised we didn't have a simple cover but a deluxe one, so that guy rushed us for no reason!

Yes we ended up putting a complaint against the company and sorted our car out.

All in all, the holiday was fun but the journey home was sooooo tiring.

The lesson I learned: 'Be aware of your options and carefully make decisions in the time of trouble.'
