You know a book is good when it is too short.
FAQ
WHAT WAS YOUR INSPIRATION TO WRITE A BOOK BASED ON COVID-19?
My inspiration was my surroundings, at first my mum asked me if I could write a book about Covid-19, I declined her thinking this was such a boring and dark subject to write on. But later on I saw and learnt a lot of new things because of Covid-19. The journey of two years has been an eye opener to the real word and a personality development course for me just through the daily incidents I faced and saw.
HOW DID YOU THINK OF THE CHARACTERS?
To be honest these characters were based off of the people i interacted with over these two years and their personalities stitched together to create 3 new people. However I do think that these 3 characters have an aspect of my personality too.
UNDER WHAT GENRE WOULD THIS BOOK COME UNDER?
I'd say it is hard to tell as my characters and incidents are a mix of fictional and non-fictional incidents as some of them have happened to me but they might've been changed a little bit to be more or less dramatic. Also Covid-19 is a non-fictional time during 2020 and I do have some key facts included but some events are also fictional. If there was a fictional-non-fictional category, I'd go with that.
WHAT AGE DID YOU AIM FOR, FOR THE READERS?
When I wrote the diary entries, I thought of a teenager writing their experience of Covid-19 so you would think that my aim for readers would be teens but now that I reflect on my book I think this is suitable for all ages as this book is more based on trying or learn about other people's lives and their perspective of lockdown. Therefore any ages can read my book but preferably ages above 9 as you would need a certain level of maturity to understand and learn about the incidents in this book.
