Hellooooooo!!!!!
Why is my introduction so ecstatic?
Well, I just had some biryani and now I am content; if you know, you know.
Anyway, my day today was semi-productive, nothing too crazy but I realised how hard drama GCSE actually is as I was revising, especially the theory... I almost hate it!
Notice that I said almost hate because you don't necessarily need high vocabulary to write an essay for theory but the catch is that it is sooooo different to English essay writing which makes things confusing and hard to adapt to considering how many essays we write for English.
- Thinking...
-Thinking...
-Thinking...
-Some thinking later...
Remember when I said I almost hated GCSE drama theory...well guess what, I change my mind - I hate it.
No, I am not indecisive, I am just contemplating my life choices in drama as I realised there isn't sophisticated vocabulary needed to write a drama essay but technical vocabulary regarding vocal and physical skills of an actor as well as theatre roles and stage types including stage positions....AAHHH!!
But hey, in the end, I enjoy creating a piece from scratch as we watch our imaginations and creations come to life, we can be the painter of our own canvas with the help of other people, working together as a team, building new friendships and skills. I love that some moments you create can be etched into your audience's memories due to the connection they feel with your character and their emotions that fluctuate as your character travels through their journey.
On a more lighter note, I would recommend the subject drama for those who want to express themselves in a creative way, learn new skills but who also don't mind writing a lot. Trust me, the theory part can be painstaking, but it's worth it.
I love how my reflection of the day randomly turned into a: 'Why you should or shouldn't pick drama for GCSE?' post, but anyway, I guess today I focused a lot on drama content and writing for theory to fight for why I started talking about drama in my self reflection post.
Maybe I should do more about a subject for GCSE as I know it is hard to make a decision about a subject you'll be stuck with for almost 4 years.
Should I do more?
